Can you decarboxylate an extract after adding a carrier oil?

Yes – in most cases.
The key to finding out is knowing the smoke point of your carrier oil. Olive oil e.g. has a smoke point of 180 degrees c. – the point where the oil starts to evaporate and ’smoke’.

When using program 2/Decarboxylation the extract (or mix if you have added a carrier oil) is heated to 95 degrees for 20 minutes. At this temperature and timespan, you will experience decarboxylation, but little to no degradation, depending on the type of carrier oil you use.
